Under the supervision of a senior engineer and supervisor, the TRC Distribution Engineering intern will be exposed to various design and engineering functions that contribute to utility distribution engineering projects. The engineering project work will support system design improvement for investor owned utilities, municipalities, electric cooperatives and telecommunication companies across the region, ranging for 4kvV to 35Kv.
The intern may prepare, provide guidance, or assist in preparing and developing the engineering deliverables for electric distribution projects. Will be responsible for working closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements. Assisting engineering team with research and studies, developing equipment specifications, project coordination, and assisting with CAD design/drafting assignments. Field work, including data collection, systems assessments, and GIS mapping duties to be expected.
* Attending a two-year or four-year college or university and pursuing with a degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE, ASEE, or related Applied Technology). Power and/or Energy Systems preferred.
* Proficient in engineering theories and principles.
* Proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.
