Position Description:

The Final Assembly Manufacturing - Advanced Planning Layout Team is a cross-functional team having the primary responsibility to create layout concepts and lead the process of facility and workstation design required to launch vehicle programs at assembly plants. The CAD resource candidate will be a part of this team and be responsible for the following: Advanced Planning Layout Responsibilities: o Assist in the development of the scope of work for A/E design requirements o Provide layout assistance and cost support as necessary throughout the program o Be an interface between process engineers, ME's, etc. o Ensure compliance to program intent identified in the program o \"Field Checks\" as required during concept layout development o Periodic site visits for engineering field observations and questions o Review release layouts and identify/verify layout issues/interferences are being addressed o Develop CAD overall layout drawings o Develop alternate layouts as required to support studies o Develop concept cross sections, carrier drawings, details, clearance verification, etc. o Incorporate initial facility, conveyor and tooling vendor drawings into the overall master layout o Provide the VO staff with layout requirements, plots, etc. o Identify layout issues/interferences and existing plant constraints o Alternate layout development as required to resolve issues and concerns o Cleanup vendors drawings for incorporation into overall layouts o Regular release of the plant layouts and documentation of the changes o Verification the layout releases are in Company CAD standards before layout uploaded to system o Verification of as built conditions before release layouts are uploaded to system o Upload as built at end of phases and final release to the Company layout system as master o Produce 1A installation and station rearrangement layouts o Produce section and elevation drawings depicting layout of new equipment

Skills Required:

  • AutoCAD 2018 or 2016 experience required - Experience with Autodesk Factory Design Suite preferred (Navisworks, Inventor, ReCap) - Strong computer skills (Excel, Power Point, etc.) - Strong verbal & written communication and presentation skills. - Ability to operate in stressful situations within timing constraints. - Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Prefer Working knowledge of statistics (control charts, data collecting, etc.) - Knowledge in one or more of the following software systems: AVBOM, GSPAS/APT, Teamcenter

Experience Required:

  • Facility CAD development required - Experience w/tooling, processes and facilities required
  • Prefer Conveyor layout development experience preferred - Construction experience preferred - 3D modeling experience preferred

Education Required:

  • Certified CAD training required, experience will be considered
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred

Extended travel to assembly plants in US, Canada, and/or Mexico required
