Job Description The Graphic Artist is responsible for producing Powerpoint briefings, technical illustrations, and posters in both electronic and printed media formats, as well as help conceptualize and produce animations, multimedia, and audio/videos. Working with technical staff, the Graphic Artist will develop impactful, high quality graphics, images, videos, and illustrations to effectively convey complex technical concepts. Must be able to take direction and adapt to different work styles. Customer service is a priority of the position. Responsibilities:Advise technical staff on best practices for producing creative graphic images and/or videosDesign/deliver technical illustrations and displays to support sponsor reviews, technical initiatives, and scientific workshops/conferences/special eventsResponsible for ensuring design and branding consistency Adaptable to changing deadlines and priorities, ensures project deadlines are maintainedEnforces Laboratory's design standardsMaintain awareness of the formal requirements of logo use, Laboratory identity, communication templates, security markings, and release review notationsRequired:BA/BFA or Certificate in Communication Design, Graphic Design, related field or equivalent experienceDemonstrated capabilities in presenting ideas written and orally within a cross-functional environment requiredDemonstrated proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications, emphasis on PowerPoint, in both a Mac and PC environmentAbility to work successfully in a team environment, as well as take ownership of projectsEffective communication skillsWorking knowledge of current graphic art production standards, practices and terminology, and functional facility with composition and information graphics Knowledge of video editingExperience with video editing software, such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Animate, Cinema 4D, Premiere, or Final Cut ProKnowledge of UI/UX design and/or data visualization preferredPortfolio of current work must be submitted with resume (website or PDF)Portfolio of sample work is required at time of interviewAbility to obtain and maintain a government clearance is required Preferred: Experience: 5+ years of visual design experience with emphasis on technical content, in a busy/deadline-oriented environmentMIT Lincoln Laboratory is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
