And that small details yield important realizations. Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward. Primary Responsibilities The primary duties of the CAD Manager are as follows:
Receive and review plans from Project Managers and EITs, coordinate due dates and delegate to CAD team members, oversee progression of work and prioritize items as necessary.
Provide supervision, training and assistance to the CAD group and other team members, troubleshoot technical problems, respond to questions, facilitate execution of work, prioritize work responsibilities, and assign resources to projects.
Ensure quality of all work from CAD technicians (includes accuracy, consistency and formatting, both on paper and digitally).
Implement and enforce CAD standards. Interact on project standards coordination with clients.
Help IT maintain CAD hardware and software, coordinate plotter needs and direct plotter technician in correcting errors.
Ensure file management and organization on the server, update cell libraries, maintain standards, provide resource files.
Review timesheets of CAD Technicians and Designers, recognize possible problem areas to provide additional training.
Recognize errors in redlines as submitted from engineers, and facilitate corrections.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Associates degree and 10 years experience in technical support of CAD applications including AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (both preferred), as well as a proven track record of supervisory experience leading a CAD department are required.
Qualified candidates should demonstrate a strong knowledge of CAD standards and practices.
Strong familiarity with engineering documentation and plan presentation.
Experience in the power and/or utility sector is preferred.
Candidates should have strong leadership skills.
Candidates should be proficient in office productivity software (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
