The Revit Low Voltage Designer Drafter is responsible for all aspects of building an Autodesk Revit model and completion of low voltage documentation including access points, security, voice and data infrastructure, etc. for clients. This position is ideal for a self-motivated individual with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM experience. This is a fast-paced work environment that requires a positive attitude, the ability to multitask, work in cross-functional teams, and excellent communication skills. Prospective candidates should have led BIM CAD processes on projects and have a basic understanding of engineering techniques, the rationale behind design decisions, and their application through BIM CAD processes. Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in REVIT building information modeling of HVAC andor Electrical Systems for retail commercial buildings. Responsibilities Using Revit, lead computer-aided design for existing and new Low Voltage Design projects throughout the life of the project with minimal supervision Utilize established design drafting standards and design processes to create prints, cut sheets, and process change orders in a timely manner for different projects Coordinate Revit library management and Revit template maintenance for multiple projects Conform to project-specific QA QC efforts and scheduling requirements Engage in low voltage design development process with the CAD team Attend project meetings and communicate with client s engineering, project management staff and client installations teams to resolve conflicts using drawings Work with the CAD team in an open office environment Travel, on a limited basis, client office and project sites Qualifications Working knowledge of AutoCAD. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Revit minimum 1 year of experience Key Revit proficiencies include Visibility graphics settings Can set up views to show appropriate elements Family functionality can effectively use family types, instance parameters, and type parameters, can efficiently customize based on project needs Annotation techniques can efficiently annotate with tags and text View templates can create, modify, and utilize View filters fundamental understanding, can an create and modify basic filters Revit schedules can manipulate and troubleshoot schedules, create basic schedules to modify model elements or retrieve model information 3D modeling can accurately place families in a 3D model 3D coordination can identifying and resolve spatial conflicts Eagerness to leverage CAD tools, especially Revit Proactive learner desire to continuously improve and grow Ability to create cut-sheets would be a useful skill Working knowledge of Office programs such as Excel and Word Degree from a technical school in electrical construction design or degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering W2 only, no Corp to Corp.
