POSITION PURPOSE Under limited supervision, under guidance from the department manager and the strategic plan, the Marketing Coordinator-Graphic Design acts as a department's liaison with the client departments to develop and execute graphic elements and design to support the organization's needs. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service/care appropriate to the age of the patients served, in accordance with Mercy standards.
Builds strong working relationships with client departments.
Coordinates printing and design requests with department manager and serves as primary designer for print orders and services, both internally and externally.
Communicates with hospital personnel and external clients, explaining printing methods, paper stock availability, printing costs and time requirements for job completion. Gives advice for better-finished products and results.
Establishes internal project deadlines and coordinate to ensure projects are are of the highest quality and completed on time.
Is enthusiastic and supports the entire team as needed with all functions related to the marketing department.
Has extensive knowledge of graphic design program including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and experience in the Windows environments.
Coordinates a number of projects simultaneously, managing workload calendar, and prioritizing to deliver work on time.
Takes internal and external photographs as well as video. Knows and understands photo editing.
Has an eye for detail and a passion for design and excellent communication skills. Has a desire to work with the public. Ability to work in a team oriented work environment.
Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and sound judgment.
Is knowledgeable of and actively participates in improving patient safety and reducing risk to patients. Complies with Safety and Infection Control Policies and Procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Requires a Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, graphic design or related field. Would consider 2 years of related experience in lieu of each year of formal education. Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of related printing experience, layout and design preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize and organize work/projects. Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must have a general working knowledge of computers and department specific software (i.e. Healthstream, internet, etc.) Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of MercyOne.
