Purpose

This position is responsible for developing electrical wiring diagrams, schematics and single line diagrams, civil, mechanical, architectural and structural drawings using Autodesk vertical engineering CADD products.

Note: The salary range listed reflects the TARGET HIRING RANGE only and does not represent the full employee pay range for this position.

Position Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Works with marked up documents from engineers, sketches or roughly designed concepts, verbal instructions and be responsible for transforming those instructions into final construction or as-built historical record documents. Drawing assignments are predominantly related to water pumping plants and affiliated supporting structures/devices for power and control system type electrical documentation. Understands and Completes drawings in accordance with CAP CADD Standards and internal process specifications. Completes other discipline specific drawings (civil, structural and mechanical) as assigned.

2. Maintains accurate and detailed records on project status and daily activities in the Enterprise Work Order System (INFOR).

3. Maintains an archive of drawings and technical documentation in the Enterprise Document Management System (OpenText) and Autodesk Vault repositories. Retrieves, maintains and records drawing related information and generates reports by the use of the Enterprise Document Management System (EDMS) and Autodesk Vault Professional.

4. Prepares and assembles final hard copy plan sets and drawing listings for field delivery of vital documents.

5. Coordinates and reviews contractor drawing packages to comply with CAP CADD standards.

6. Conforms final record drawings using an external CADD file reference (demo and design) process and assists in the file coordination between other projects affected.

7. Performs peer reviews and personal reviews of all work packages assigned.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

1. REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Knowledge, Training, Skills, and Experience:

* Associate's Degree in CADD or related technical field plus five (5) years of design and drafting experience in any of the following disciplines: electrical, civil, mechanical or structural; OR a high school diploma or equivalent plus seven (7) years of design and drafting experience in any of the following disciplines: electrical, civil, mechanical or structural.
* Demonstrated knowledge of technical drawing, such as schematic design, power and control cabling design, instrumentation installation detail design, loop diagrams, physical layout drawings, as well as, other aspects of power, civil and utility engineering design.
* Must possess logic and math skills sufficient to apply necessary formulae and calculations to solve technical mathematics problems and moderate data calculations.
* Demonstrated ability to operate computerized databases and Autodesk products.
* Must have excellent teamwork, conflict resolution, and customer service skills.
* Demonstrated ability to prepare technical communications both verbal and written.
* Must be proficient in AutoCAD and have a fundamental understanding of most of the following: Autodesk products, Layering Standards, NCS version 5, XREF best practices, and Document Management Systems.
* Ability to produce documents with minimal oversight at a level of high quality in an efficient manner.

Required Certifications or Licenses:

* Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
* Must obtain AutoCAD Professional Certification within six months of hire date.

Type: Contacts are typically with employees of various departments at various levels and occasionally with outside vendors, consultants, contractors, or other agencies.

Purpose: To obtain or clarify information; primarily to gain input on problems or needs from all concerned personnel and to discuss the findings, results, and final product.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that persons in this position will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Physical Demands: This position requires functional testing. The essential job requirements involve sitting for long periods of time including occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling (in any combination thereof) of objects up to 26 pounds and the use of repetitive hand and wrist movements to enter alpha and numeric data into a computer, including the ability to grasp and manipulate work objects. The person in this position may work in confined spaces from time to time. Essential to this position is corrected or non-corrected vision. Example: must be able to see, read and interpret handwritten and printed documents, correspondence, manuals, office papers, computer screen, etc., including seeing various colors. Must be able to see to operate work equipment. Also essential to this position is corrected or non-corrected hearing which is necessary for the ability to hear and comprehend voice communications as well as the ability to speak to communicate to individuals on the job.

Work Environment: The majority of work time is spent working inside in either a single-level or upper-level structured office building, which is heated, air-conditioned and smoke-free. Persons in this position may conduct business out of the office, which may require driving a CAP vehicle on improved and unimproved roadways. Outside working conditions are dependent on the weather, which involves extreme heat in the summer (temperatures over 100 degrees) and cold in the winter (temperatures below freezing). Some work visitations may be required at the pumping plants and along the CAP canal. The pumping plants and office structures are heated and cooled. Noise levels are generally minimal, however, they can be excessive for brief periods of time. The person in this position moves about using various conveyances such as an elevator, stairway, and/or walk ramp. Persons in this position may have exposure to flora, fauna and the natural habitat of the desert environment.
